How are portion sizes determined?

The portions represented in the images are the most consistent with serving size adjustments typical for populations consuming that diet, largely consistent with USDA portion size guidelines. Portion sizes are also accounted for by cross checking them with known nutrient distribution attributes for a given dietary pattern. Each diet is standardized to 2000 kcal/day +/- 100 kcal to provide a customizable baseline for all users, accounting for their respective calorie intakes. Calculation of nutrients and food groupings provides data for diet quality scoring.
