What health goals does Diet ID address?
When using the goal setting module, Diet ID prompts a user to select any health goals they may have. Our system currently supports the following health goals:
- Improve heart health
- Control blood pressure
- Prevent and control diabetes
- Immunity support
- Improve overall health
- Manage weight - weight loss
- Manage weight - maintenance
- Manage weight - weight gain
- Manage heart failure - if this goal is selected, we recommend keeping daily sodium intake to less than 1500 mg.
- Manage high cholesterol
- Manage food sensitivities
- Improve gut health
- Menopause
- Kidney Health (CKD)
- PCOS
- Brain Health
- Cancer Survivorship
- Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
Based on a person's selection, we show the best diet styles to help someone achieve their health goal. This selection is visual so the person can get a feel for what foods they can eat. We typically recommend more than one style of eating (sometimes several) for each health goal to ensure the person can find something that looks achievable and delicious.
These goal diet recommendations can be used in disease management settings, but our recommendations are general and should not be used to replace medical advice. As a provider, you can use the recommendations generated by Diet ID as foundational guidance, but always use your best judgment when providing additional clinical or non-clinical guidance to the individual.
Please note, we are always rolling out new health goals, so if your population has a health goal you don't see on this list, please email us at info@dietid.com.
